"Miley was with her publicist and told her to hang on for a second so she could come over to the Sprinkles cupcakes area and get a mini-strawberry and a mini-red velvet cupcake.
"Miley was like, 'You don't understand, Sprinkles is my thing,' and said her mom 'has a cupcake problem' too."

Miley Cyrus

A pop star is born

Miley Cyrus was born in Nashville, Tenn., on Nov. 23, 1992. Her parents — country music star Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia “Tish” Finley — originally gave her a different name.

In 2006, 12-year-old Miley became the star of her own Disney Channel show. She also sang the theme song. The series featured a girl-next-door type who led a secret rock star double life, with her father co-starring as her on-screen dad. The seven-track release “The Time of Our Lives” — initially exclusive to this megachain — came out in 2009. It coincided with the launch of Miley’s clothing line, designed with the help of a fashion veteran. Another feather in her cap was her family film debut. Miley courts more controversy

Critics blasted 16-year-old Miley’s “Party in the U.S.A.” performance at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, saying the routine was too adult for teenybopper fans. Also deemed “too adult” was her boyfriend, a male model five years her senior. Who was he?

Her non-’Hannah’ role

In 2010, Miley starred in the non-Disney film “The Last Song,” written by this best-selling author. Find out what critics had to say. Whether or not her acting chops were top-notch, she still made the grade on this high-pulse list.

Her bong bust

October 2010 brought her parents’ headline-grabbing divorce. But by December, all eyes were back on Miley. Shortly after her 18th birthday, news outlets got hold of video footage of her smoking from a bong at a party. She claims it wasn’t what most folks presumed it was but rather this psychoactive plant. There were no legal repercussions; here’s why. All the same, the media had a field day with the story.

Movie is being directed by Tom Vaughan, whose film credits include “What Happens in Vegas” and “Extraordinary Measures.”

Arceneaux said they picked Tulane as a location for the film because of its traditional appearance and reputation. “The script called for [Miley] to go to an old, prestigious and nice looking school,” Arceneaux said.

“We filmed in a big mansion that was the setting of the sorority house,” Rodkin said. “Miley talked to us in between takes and told us about all her tattoos.”

“She was partying it up on the second floor,” Tideman said. “Too bad she didn't play ‘Party in the USA.’”
